    Dennis,

Would like to contact you about Bluetooth and some custom device we have with connecting to SPP using different phones. Not sure if we are doing something wrong in BT chip firmware for our device or is it just the phones not implementing BT SPP properly.

    John Matthews

PS nice last name although mine is the correct spelling…lol

    Hello Dennis,

I am looking for free application or quick example for how to send broadcast action (like ACTION_MEDIA_BUTTON with volume down keycode used simulate volume down media button is pressed) from one android device to another android device via bluetooth. This way we can simulate sending android device as bluetooth device with specific buttons like play/pause/next or call hang up events defined in android. Receiving android device may not have custom application to catch events as receiving content is android defined only.

    Is it possible 🙂 ?

I have searched over net but found bluetooth or wifi application to control pc or mac. Any free application or simple example to send such intent would be great !!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Dennis,
Sorry I had to write here, couldn’t find anything about your e-mail address.

I saw your question at StackOverFlow about viewing the notification center on the iOS simulator. I wasn’t looking for this but looking for tutorials about using notification center in iOS5. So far I am unable to get anything, there’s a widget but seems for jailbroken devices.

Can you share a guide or a link or something -anything- about this? I mean, about showing notifications in notification center?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers.

    Hi Dennis,

I’ve noticed you’ve provided very good answers to questions related to BT and IPhone connectivity. Can you please take a look at the following question : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11511452/if-a-bluetooth-device-is-not-in-the-mfi-program-which-profiles-should-it-suppor

    Thanks,

    Hi Dennis,

I came across your name on Stackoverflow. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions that I have about Bluetooth OOB pairing using NFC. Here are my questions (quoted here from Stackoverflow):

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16821938/does-android-v-4-0-support-bluetooth-pairing-with-oob-association-model-wi

I would like to use NFC for OOB Bluetooth pairing. If an application uses an NDEF record with type name “application/vnd.bluetooth.ep.oob”, does Android use OOB association model as described in the BT spec? Does a recent version of Android (> 4.0) expose an API to do this? If the answer is no, does Android use “Just Works” association model with connection over an insecure BT socket (unauthenticated link key)? I have seen an old post here that discusses this in the context of Android 3.2, but nothing more recent.

    Thanks,
    Pradeep

    Hello Dennis,

I hope u are doing good.

I am doing a project related with BLE, I am trying to connect my BLED 112 DOngle with NRF 8001 in order to receive the data in my C# program. I am only being able to get the scan result and not being able to connect to it. Do you have some suggestion for me, with NRF heart beat sensor is attached, So in my code i have used the hex value of 0x180D and 0x2A37 in order to connect and to receive the data. I have also posted my question in stack overflow but havent received any answer yet. Please do let me know if you have any suggestions for me.

looking forward to hear from you.

    Hi Dennis,

I would like to contact you about Bluetooth, do you know if Android API gives the possibility of broadcasting sepecific messages to all nearby android devices?

    Thanks,
    Roberto.

    Hey Dennis,

I am developing a pair of wireless earbuds and wanted to ask you a few questions about Bluetooth A2DP. A few of my questions are below:

    – In theory, Bluetooth 2.0 has a multicast/broadcast capability for maintaining relationships with multiple endpoints at once. Have Apple and Android phones implemented this capability?
    – A2DP is a higher performance audio that Bluetooth 2.0 has. A2DP also has a multicast/broadcast feature. Can you have audio streaming in broadcast mode?
    – If we’re unable to use A2DP’s multicast feature to simultaneously connect two separate earbuds to a phone, we’d look into CSR’s TrueWireless technology. Are you familiar with this technology, or how we could use a TrueWireless module to build a rough prototype?

If you have any availability to speak, I’d love to chat with you. Please let me know!

    Best,
    Conor

  12. Hi Dennis, Do you do any freelance dev work on iOS apps? I’m looking for a developer for an app using BTLE for a consumer robotics product. If you’re interested, please email contact at dashrobotics dot com. Thanks!
